An opalescent grisaille on light blue background. An opalescent grisaille on light blue background. For a trompe-l'Ε“il effect, which adds a lot of depth, I used Soyer 163, an incredibly dark blue, to create a shadow. Swipe to see the palette. Soyer 163 is the deepest, most hypnotic blue. It tends to break up when applied on top of opaque white (and you might want to use this for interesting separation enamel effects), but it is in fact not soft fusing, so I often use it as a very dark background as an opalescent grisaille background for a very dramatic effect. #vitreousenamel #esmaltealfuego #enamelingtools #enamelingsupplies #enameling #enamelworkshop
Soyer 30 is one of my favourite enamels. You know Soyer 30 is one of my favourite enamels. You know I love to work on copper, and it is an amazing golden yellow when applied directly on top of clean, preferably textured copper. Some colours seem to highlight texture more than others, and this one certainly does it extremely well! Lovers of basse-taille and chamlevΓ© on copper, this one is for you! Be warned though, this colour is extremely reactive to silver and needs to be well isolated from it.
